Who was Pauline? by Lisa Occomore, her granddaughter
She was a survivor, a fighter and probably one of the strongest women I have ever met
She was beautiful inside and out she always had a way of taking away your hurt or troubles and left you with a smile
She could be silly and she could be serious, she was gentle and so kind to everyone
She loved animals, birds and flowers. She was crafty but most of all she found joy in and loved her family.
Pauline found Alvin not too long ago and and he filled her heart with love and this indescribable school girl joy. She glowed with happiness, peace and a love that will never be forgotten. Pauline and her family will always be thankful for Alvin and the joy and Love he brought her. They had this deep, crazy, fun and special kind of love that all of us look for, you could just feel it coming off them when they were together and the years they had had together although too few where definitely some of Pauline’s best ones.
Pauline wasn’t just a mother. She was Debbie’s best friend. They cried together they laughed together. They would laugh, shop, dance and be silly and in times of pain they were each other’s rock. The bond between this mother and daughter was strong. They are each other’s rock, and it’s a bond that can never be broken there may be more space between them now but it will forever remain unbreakable. The love between and mom and daughter is a force to be reckoned with. It goes far beyond and it’s what makes a mother like Pauline one of the best.
Pauline was a grandmother but not just any grandmother she was “nan”. The love she had for her grandchildren and the love they had for her went far beyond the heart. Lisa would always tell Pauline that she was her favourite grandchild and Pauline would tell her the same, this was their silly thing. And even though Pauline loved all of her grandchildren the same with this unforgettable kind of Love. Lisa and Pauline did have a one of kind and special bond that can never be replaced.
Her niece Donna and neighbour Jean were also very close to her heart. She loved them both as a mother and a best friend and they are people who also brought a great joy in Pauline’s life.
You see Pauline was an angel on earth She was the one you could run to with anything and she never judged. She had so much love for the people and family in her life that you couldn’t help but feel it and smile when around her. She had so many people that touched her and she had touched deeply.
For so many Losing Pauline in this life as a partner, a mother, a nan and a friend is irreplaceable as she made such an impact and held such a huge part of so many hearts that we all must remember that our once angel on earth is now our angel in heaven and is there to watch over us all from above and you can still feel her love all around.
Gone but never forgotten, missed but never leaving our hearts and thoughts.

Loving companion of Alvin Herron. Cherished mother of Debbie Blanchard. Much loved “Nan” of Lisa Logan-Occomore (Brad) and Rebecca Logan. Great ”Nanny” of Corey-Anne, Tyson, Cooper and Kylie. Special aunt of Donna Preece (Doug). Special neighbour and friend of Jean and Mark Ramsden. Remembered by Alfred Hamilton.
Friends may visit the family at the Alan R Barker Funeral Home, 19 McArthur Avenue, Carleton Place on Sunday, February 7, 2016 from 1 to 4 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday at 1 p.m.
Spring interment Auld Kirk Cemetery, Almonte.
