Condolence From: Maureen strain(Morrison )
Condolence: I was saddened to read of Aunt Vera’s death. But I’m comforted to know that her and Uncle Hal are together again probably dancing in heaven. There were memories I have of her that brings a smile to my face. Her love of animals namely whiskey, topper, pursani and pursan the chow chows. Her love of nature namely her gardens ; the one in Perth and the other in Montreal .The way she played the piano so gracefully and effortlessly made me love that instrument . RIP Aunt Vera.

Condolence: The camp that Hal and Vera provided touched the lives of so many people in Lanark County.

I still carry so many lessons and memories with me from Lanark Children’s Haven; I met some of the most important people in my life there.

Thank you Hal and Vera for providing this space and experience, for myself and so many others.

My condolences to those missing her.

Condolence From: Julie Willbond
Condolence: Wishing Vera’s family comfort in losing her. I worked at Lanark Children’s Haven many years ago. That camp was a foundational experience in building confidence and skills that helped in my post-secondary education. The legacy of the camp is long-lasting and continues today. As a social worker in the area, I regularly hear stories from the parents I work with of their fond memories of summer camp. Rest easy, Vera.
