Who Was John Boland? Chatterton House/Queen’s Hotel Registry — The Burgess Family Dynasty

Signature from the Chatterton House (Queen’s Hotel) Guest book 1887— and so weeks ago I began to research yet another name from the book. Who was John Boland? John Boland Sr. signed the book and married Ann Burgess of Smiths Falls. Their son was John Boland Jr. shown in the pictures below and was 8 when Boland Sr. signed the book.

The bride is Mary A Burgess. The matron of honour is her sister, Martha Burgess. Both are daughters of Nathaniel, brother of Thomas Taylor Burgess.  The groom is Charles R Stoddard, and the best man is John Boland JR. (son of Ann Burgess and John Boland Sr.)  Picture taken: December 25, 1902 at the home of Nat Burgess, Brick St, Carleton Place, ON — One year later John Boland Jr. married Lizzie Lyons (daughter of Mary Morphy and John Lyons).
