Hi Linda,

I have an old Almonte photo, I wish I knew who the people were. JUST love the photo. Sending pics. Taken in Almonte by James Townend, in business about 1881 to 1904 according to photographers online web page.

Info–James Townend was Almonte’s first photographer, and conducted a studio there for many years. In his younger days he was a band leader being especially noted for his brilliant cornet playing. He married Isabella Anderson Gilmour, her death occurred at Perth on Tuesday, November 18th, of Mrs. James Townend at the great age of 96 years. She was born, on the 8th line Ramsay, probably the oldest native of the district at the time of her death. (Linda Seccaspina)

Something about them called to me, maybe it was just the Almonte photographer, but I had to have it. It’s on a hard card stock and is in excellent shape for it’s age.

Can anyone offer any information?
