On the west coast there are many Hot Pot restaurants. In fact they do nothing else except serve Hot Pot Asian food. So what is it? A Hot Pot, refers to several East Asian varieties of stew, consisting of a simmering metal pot of stock at the center of the dining table.
Fisherman’s Palace in Carleton Place has just added 5 brand new hot pot selections:
Satay Shrimps with Bean Thread was on our table tonight. Bean thread vermicelli noodles were combined with pineapple, shrimp and satay sauce. Of course there was their famous Pad Thai and eggrolls.
They have introduced new Authentic menu selections for those with a more adventurous palate. I cannot stress how great their food is! The key to eating really good Chinese food is not to ask what it is. Go with the flow and ditch the sweet and sour chicken balls for something brand new and exciting. And for gosh sakes, don’t ask Sherry for Soy Sauce. That’s like throwing a bottle of ketchup over your 5 star dinner. Of course, she will give it to you— but be kind! LOL!
Remember, Hot Pots are for in-restaurant dining only-too hot to handle for take out!
