A Carleton Place Mom’s plea—Help me bring my son home

I used to be such a hypochondriac, worrying about the slightest ache– but after I initially wrote about Lisa Barrie’s son Jeffrey I figured out you don’t realize how healthy you are until it is taken away from you.
On July 2, 2015, a single mother, Lisa Barrie went to wake her son. He neither moved or responded. Diagnosed with meningitis, her 12 year-old son suffered two strokes and was admitted to CHEO in Ottawa.
On Christmas Eve Jeffrey and his Mother were able to take a special bus and head home to Carleton Place for the Christmas holidays. We would like to thank Bud’s Taxi in Carleton Place who was responsible for Jeff being able to come home for Christmas with the family. They have also offered all other transportation needs that Jeffrey might need in the future with their bus. Jeffrey is not cured, but he was able to come home for the first time since he got sick in early July.
It was wonderful to see the love and joy in the photos posted on Facebook as the family welcomed him home. Jeffrey’s siblings, his grandmother Donna, the family dog Bella, and the extended family were all able to celebrate Christmas and the amazing recovery Jeffrey has made so far.
Lisa is forever grateful for the donations, support and prayers to make this happen for her family. She could not have done this without you. Now the Angel Foundation has finally found a home that they can modify and now we need to get it ready for Jeff to come home too. So please, we are counting on your continued support to help this family finally reunite forever.
Lisa Barrie posted a quote by Gail Devers on her Facebook page that said:
“Keep your dreams alive. Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination, and dedication. Remember all things are possible for those who believe”.
From this to this..
Miracles happen to those that believe in them. Jeffrey’s recovery has been nothing short of one. Usually miracles happen just before you are ready to quit. So let’s not quit believing in the Barrie family becoming one again. Please donate today!
Thank you for you compassion and donations.
