In 1910 the US passed a White Slave Act. It wasn’t because we had trouble with white slavery- it’s what they used as a title so they could get money to combat organized prostitution. Canada jumped in on the band wagon and money was raised so the Dominion would not lose our Canadian gals to white slavery. The media was all over this like warm socks and they asked each town to reply to white slavery questions. The answers from Kingston below cracked me up.
