January 1920- Almonte Gazette
In two years Mr. John Fitzgerald has lost over 100 chickens and an occasional turkey. The latest thief had apparently more gall than his predecessors or perhaps it was the same thief whose success was more enterprising. On the latest occasion, which was New Year’s Eve, the scoundrel brought a lamp with him so to pick out the best of the flock. Besides the lamp, he left behind two saws and a hammer. Mr Fitzgerald would like the job of handing these implements back to him personally, so all he has to do is call.
