About that Donald Trump Apology- An Op-Ed

Funny-Donald-Trump-Jokes.jpg

I fell asleep last night waiting for Donald Trump’s apology video to come out on CNN. At midnight  I went to bed. It looks like it took them hours to create that 1:35 minute video and get it out. I bet they had to pull Trump kicking and screaming up to the mike to make it too. There is no way he would have ever made such a transparent apology if he wasn’t totally coerced by his campaign people. Look at his facial expression–does that appear to be someone who is genuinely sorry? The man is just hopelessly foolish.

Why do I get that sneaking suspicion that he’s only sorry he got caught? This actually looks like a hostage video, which is probably what it was with an insincere reading of someone else’s words that his campaign took 5 HOURS to get him to do. If you’re angry when you’re making your “apology,” it’s not a real apology. But, people who support him don’t seem to care. It’s astounding the lengths people go to defend this type of behaviour.

Why did he have to bring the Clinton’s into his apology ? Whatever Bill Clinton did has nothing to do with what he did. It doesn’t make it okay for what Trump did or said. He never takes responsibilities and his excuses are always ,”She did it.” or “she did it first.”
So elementary !

Nobody thinks Bill Clinton was right for his actions– but the difference is, Trump has been using Bill’s morally bad behaviour as a weapon against Hillary during this election. She is the victim now of not only her husband’s affairs, but having Trump throw them up whenever it suits him.

My opinion? Keep your apology and save it for your wife, your daughters and ex’s. They are the ones that need it the most.

Nothing but pure ego run amok!

About lindaseccaspina

Linda Knight Seccaspina was born in Cowansville, Quebec about the same time as the wheel was invented and the first time she realized she could tell a tale was when she got caught passing her smutty stories around in Grade 7 at CHS by Mrs. Blinn. When Derek "Wheels" Wheeler from Degrassi Jr. High died in 2010, Linda wrote her own obituary. Some people said she should think about a career in writing obituaries. Before she laid her fingers to a keyboard, Linda owned the eclectic store Flash Cadilac and Savannah Devilles in Ottawa from 1976-1996. After writing for years about things that she cared about or pissed her off she finally found her calling. Is it sex drugs and rock n' roll you might ask? No, it is history. Seeing that her very first boyfriend in Grade 5 (who she won a Twist contest with in the 60s) is the head of the Brome Misissiquoi Historical Society and also specializes in local history back in Quebec, she finds that quite funny. She writes every single day and is also a columnist for Hometown News and Screamin's Mamas. She is a volunteer for the Carleton Place and Beckwith Heritage Museum, an admin for the Lanark County Genealogical Society Facebook page, and a local guest speaker. She has been now labelled an historian by the locals which in her mind is wrong. You see she will never be like the iconic local Lanark County historian Howard Morton Brown, nor like famed local writer Mary Cook. She proudly calls herself The National Enquirer Historical writer of Lanark County, and that she can live with. Linda has been called the most stubborn woman in Lanark County, and has requested her ashes to be distributed in any Casino parking lot as close to any Wheel of Fortune machine as you can get. But since she wrote her obituary, most people assume she's already dead. Linda has published six books, "Menopausal Woman From the Corn," "Cowansville High Misremembered," "Naked Yoga, Twinkies and Celebrities," "Cancer Calls Collect," "The Tilted Kilt-Vintage Whispers of Carleton Place," and "Flashbacks of Little Miss Flash Cadilac." All are available at Amazon in paperback and Kindle. Linda's books are for sale on Amazon or at Wisteria · 62 Bridge Street · Carleton Place, Ottawa, Canada, and at the Carleton Place and Beckwith Heritage Museum · 267 Edmund Street · Carleton Place, Ottawa, Canada--Appleton Museum-Mississippi Textile Mill and Mill Street Books and Heritage House Museum and The Artists Loft in Smith Falls.

  1. Linda, you have to get out a little more. Remember JFK with the revolving bimbo door at the white house? Or, LBJ with his much publicized harem. And, Richard Nixon’s potty mouth in discussing almost anything, and that includes Obama who got caught with an open mic. And then there is Bill. As one observer put it, talking is one thing but actions speak louder than words and Bill had a lot of action. And, in case the response might be, “But he’s not running for President”, she is and she was the enabler that permitted his action and, should she win, he will be the First something and he may yet try to put JFK to shame.
