CDPMH-MEDIA RELEASE September 1, 2016
Dr. Scott Higham has worked down the hall from Dr. David Lenny for more than 30 years and says he is going to miss Dr. Lenny’s knowledge, practical advice and warm smile. Dr. Lenny is retiring after 37 years of caring for the local community. The entire team at Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital (CDPMH) wish him well.
“Dr. Lenny is an excellent doctor who is highly regarded by his colleagues and patients,” notes Dr. Higham, CPDMH’s Chief of Staff. “He is a credit to the medical profession.”
Dr. Lenny was first credentialed at CPDMH in 1979 after graduating from the University of Toronto and completing an internship in Dunedin, New Zealand. One of his many accomplishments at CPDMH was the development of a set of ‘prepared orders’ which are used to guide each patient’s care. “On his own initiative and without funding, Dr. Lenny developed this important care tool, many years ahead of its time,” explains Dr. Higham.
Dr. Lenny will also be missed by his colleagues because of his delightful sense of humour and unique expressions. “He was usually ‘happy as a toad’ or he told us we could find something ‘this side of the black stump,” laughs Dr. Higham.
Congratulations on a well-earned retirement!
