I play bad piano, but one thing I am good at is playing spoons. Growing up in the rural Eastern Townships of Quebec it was the norm there that people played spoons to accompany the fiddle. In Canada, the spoons accompany the fiddle playing in Québecois and Acadian music. Also, Newfoundland and the Atlantic Provinces popularly play the spoons at family gatherings. Playing the spoons is rarely seen in Western Canada.
